There’s no “Mixed Message” here! We helped raise the funds, now they’re getting what’s long overdue!

In collaboration with Hurley, photographer/artist Desiree Astorga and some of the most esteemed faces in the action sports art world, Premise Creative Director Gregg Witt joined forces to sponsor the Mixed Message Art show in Ojai, California.

Along with photography, art, great beats and great eats, the event helped raise the final $350,000 needed to construct the 10,000 square foot skate park in the artsy town just north of L.A.

DVS Photo Series Event Left Standing Room Only!
posted: 09.10.07

Click Here for the Slideshow and DVS's recap of the event!

DVS Photographer Series Artist Reception draws a great crowd from ASR and what started out as a refined art opening morphs into a raging party.

DVS hosted an art opening to help launch "Round Two" of the DVS Photographer Series collection. The show featured an amazing array of original photos provided by featured artists, Mike Burnett, Skin Phillips, J. Grant Brittain and Dave Swift. All profits from the photographs sold are being donated to the Go Skateboarding Foundation.

The crowd rolled in from the streets and enjoyed complimentary drinks while mingling with the artists, legendary skateboarders and folks from across the skateboard cultural spectrum. Skin Phillips seemed very happy with his display of photos and mingled with friends. Dave Swift talked with his hands and tried to stay away from the limelight. Grant Brittain snapped photos of those in attendance. And last, but not least, Burnett rolled in fresh off of Thrasher’s “King of the Road” tour.

DVS would like to thank Premise for hosting the party, the artists for taking part and all who helped bring it to fruition. Be on the lookout for the Photographer Series part two shoes hitting retailer’s shelves in Spring 08. A portion of the proceeds for each shoe sold will be donated to the artists’ charity of choice.
